Responsibilities

* To advise and to assist the employer in ensuring the safety and health of the employees at the work place, by implementing occupational safety and health (OSH) programs and other activities, as required by OSHA Act and its regulations.
* To strive with the ultimate aim of having a competition edge as against other competitors in similar industry, by adopting and implementing the best OSH practices within PNB premises.
* To coordinate all OSH issues to be raised and discussed in the OSH meetings, as chaired by the Head of Human Resource Division.
* To conduct periodical inspection, in identifying the hazards at the work place and to determine whether they are either low or intolerable risks involved.
* To conduct any accident investigations at the place of work, to determine their causes and to recommend corrective action, in preventing recurrence.
* To conduct OSH awareness (induction) program and to assist in the implementation of training programs or courses for the employees relevant to their job function.
* To assist in the development of OSH guidelines or procedures, as well as organizing safety and health campaign.
* Responsible for ensuring all personnel including contractors comply with the OSHA 1994, FMA 1967 and its regulations, HSE Policies & Guidelines

Requirements

* Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health or related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years experience in EHS management, including process engineering, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & Risk Control (HIRARC), office safety, ergonomics and NADOOPOD 2004
* Registered as a Safety and Health Officer with DOSH.
* Knowledgeable in Occupational Safety and Health issues at workplace.
* Well versed with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, Fire Service Act 1988 and its regulations.
* Strong leadership and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure.
* Proactive, result-oriented and a good team player, able to interact with all level of staffs.
* Familiar with Safety and Health Management System.
* Good report writing skill on Safety & Health matters in both Bahasa Melayu and English.
